Description

Ross Raddi9/10. Of the few Coll De Damas I've had, they all seem to have this elegant jammy berry flavor to them. Roja is no exception. Plus it ripened for me in cool temps, was split & still had the drop of honey I love to see. Definitely a top tier fig. No doubt.

Pons translation: The fig tree is located and cultivated in Ses Comes, Llucmajor by Francesc Mir, the new sprout of the mother fig tree almost exhausted.

The fig tree is medium in appearance and vigorous between medium and high, rounded and remarkable cup, thick, moderately fruity, and with a medium harvest period.

The figs are pyriform, medium-sized, with a color that is very similar to those of the black lady's neck to medium maturation, but they do not dye anymore, they remain of a earthy, greenish or greyish green color, according to the predominant color. They are symmetrical in shape and uniform in dimensions. The pulp is dark red, very tasty. They present a good percentage of nuts, and low of abnormal formations. They have a median abscission of the peduncle and a lot of ease of peeling. The skin is very thick, hard and thin. Very suitable for transportation; They are resistant to the opening of the ostiole and to the rains and have a very easy detachment.

The leaves are mostly trilobated and few pentalobadas; of wavy margins that are not trimmed with the acute peciolar angle.

The DAMA ROJA COLL variety is originated from the Taixiquet area, in the term of Llucmajor, which is little known and cultivated, so named for its denominated shape, such as the lady's neck, and its original color of the skin.
