Description

This very large (it ain’t called Giant for nothing!) brown fig has a wonderful figgy flavor. Amber flesh. Ripens August-September. Zones 7-10.

Per R. Morgan, 2/16/1986: "Several trees in Capitola and Soquel. Fruit is very large (to 126 grams), rather flat-ended, with brown skin, lighter (amber flesh, excellent flavor, often splitting at end. Ripens in fall (here [Soquel, CA] at least)."

Accession was donated. 25-Feb-1986. California United States. Donors: Morgan, Randall. Comment: Donated to NCGR, Davis.
