Description

Pons translation: The tree belongs to the collection of Mut Nou, and the mother fig tree is cultivated in Ses Voltes, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, by Pedro Santandreu i Ferrer, a great person, knowledgeable and lover of everything that surrounds the Mallorcan agro.

The fig tree has a medium high development, with a proud and straight crown, with light branches and moderate foliage, with a fairly high annual growth of buds, with a notable formation of nodal buds on the branches, very marked, but not on the trunk.  It is a tree, with a high yield, giving two crops, a fairly early one of good quality grapes and another one of early figs, with a medium-high harvest period.

The figs, and especially the figs, are large, between ovoid and pear-shaped, with a narrow and narrow neck, with a thin and short peduncle. They are symmetrical in shape and uniform in dimensions, black with a slightly bruised neck, very little cracked, in any case with a cracked thick scarce. The skin is medium thickness, medium rough, the pulp is whitish, quite tasty, with many achenes, medium. They present a low percentage of paired fruits and abnormal formations, have a difficult abscission of the peduncle and a medium ease of peeling. They are quite resistant to the opening of the ostiolo and to the transport and very sensitive to the agriado one.

The leaves are mostly trilobed with almost the same percentage of pentalobadas, marked wavy margins and with an acute petiolar angle.

The variety ALBACOR DE MOLLA BLANCA, described in the Catalan-Valencian-Balearic Dictionary, owes its name probably to the color of its pulp, so markedly whitish.
