When we are asked what kind of flooring we are going to install in our new home, we respond, “We’re not”. People seem perplexed by this. I actually like the look of smooth, sealed concrete (leaf prints and all). It’s cost effective and easy to maintain. Yes, it can be cold (kinda nice in the summer) and hard on the feet. Slippers can address both of these issues. Besides, we will probably put down some area rugs once we get settled.
Concrete is our choice. When you build your house, you can have whatever you want in it.
With everything that’s going on with the house this year, we’re not going to have much of a garden. A few pots will hafta do for now.
Of course, we have tomatoes and bell peppers, along with a pair of paw paws, a fig and basil. I’m still looking for a few other herbs like rosemary and oregeno.
Maybe next year will be our garden year, but we have actually had great success with container gardening. There seems to be a lot less work with a high level of production.
The last thing I did today was to finish the 7.1 surround sound wiring in the great room. Of course, this calls for a 7.1 receiver which we do not have, but it will be there when we do!
